Matching the right people to the right projects at the right time is at the core of what we’re trying to achieve at Expert360. Experts want to find exciting, engaging Projects to work on, and Clients are looking to access expertise on-demand. Here’s some insight into how Expert360’s matching of people to Projects works.
When Clients create Projects on Expert360, they specify what sort of services they’re looking for, and the deliverables for their specific Project. They also have a chance to specify who their ‘Ideal Consultant’ might be, across dimensions such as experience, qualifications, skills, location and availability.
As the Project is posted to the Marketplace, our algorithm reviews what’s been requested on the Project Brief and runs a number of searches to identify the Top 20 Vetted Experts who look like they would be a good fit for the role, based on their Project and rating history, their roles previous to contracting through Expert360, and the skills they’ve listed on their Profiles. These Experts are sent an automated invite to Apply to the Project.
Our algorithm is really good and getting smarter, but it doesn’t cover all use cases, so when a Project has a really specific requirement or is outside our norm, Experts will be sent manual invitations to Apply. These might be triggered by the Client using Explore to find Experts they think would be good matches, or by our team at Expert360, supporting Clients to connect with an Expert fast.
Once an Expert has been Invited to Apply to a project, or when an Expert finds a Project in Browse they need to submit an Application, same as if they’d found the opportunity through Browsing for Projects.
When submitting an Application, Experts should highlight their most relevant experience to the project in discussion, their availability, and an indicative rate; Clients then use these applications to decide on who to take to the next stage which is the Interview Stage.
